Who We Are
Alan Brachfeld, CPA, CFP®, PFS, AIF®
Alan Brachfeld is a founding partner of KBK Wealth Management and has been providing financial planning, retirement, tax, estate, and investment planning services to individuals and families for more than 25 years.
Alan believes that the key to a successful client-advisor relationship stems from truly understanding the client's unique circumstances and objectives. By taking a comprehensive approach to wealth management, he is able to advise his clients in all areas of their financial lives, including retirement planning, portfolio management, and trust services. Aside from being a certified public accountant and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Alan is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designee—the industry-standard accreditation for excellence and stewardship in the management and care of pension funds, 401(k)s, foundation assets, educational and nonprofit endowments, and other qualified monies.
Alan graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn College and quickly began his practice as a CPA in corporate finance. In the mid-1980s, Alan’s desire to help individuals spurred his move from the corporate side of finance into the world of independent financial planning.
In addition to his active involvement in professional associations, including the Financial Planning Association®, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants®, and the Financial Services Institute®, Alan is dedicated to community and human services. He is a founding director of Project Kids Worldwide, a nonprofit organization that teams with NYU Langone Medical Center to provide life-saving heart surgery and medical treatment for impoverished children with congenital and acquired coronary disease from underserved areas throughout the world.
