Founding Partner of KBK Wealth Management

Richard is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional with more than 35 years in the financial services industry. As a founding member of KBK Wealth Management, Richard prides himself on providing comprehensive financial advice. He is a Registered Representative, an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designee—the industry-standard accreditation for excellence and stewardship in the management and care of foundation assets, pension plans, 401(k)s, educational and nonprofit endowments, and other qualified monies.

Additionally, Richard is a member of the Financial Services Institute, an independent advocacy organization working in Washington, D.C., and at the state level to promote the highest ethical and fiduciary care standards to protect client assets, as well as a healthy regulatory environment that advances principles of good stewardship, accountability, and individual access to independent, competent, and affordable financial advice, products, and services.

Richard earned a bachelor of science in finance from Syracuse University. Upon graduation, he was recruited into a large Wall Street firm in the options and municipal bond departments but quickly preferred a more personal consultative approach to financial management.

An early practitioner of comprehensive financial planning, Richard has been a CFP® practitioner in good standing since 1989. He specializes in personal retirement planning, portfolio design, and implementation for individuals, pensions, and estates with an emphasis on risk minimization and total return.

Richard is proud to have been recognized as a Chairman's Level advisor for 2020—a distinction based on annual production attained by just 3 percent of advisors affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network®. Each year, Commonwealth, the Registered Investment Adviser–broker/dealer that helps us process investment transactions on your behalf, recognizes Chairman's Level advisors by inviting them to an exclusive gathering of their peers, leading industry experts, and Commonwealth home office staff. Chairman's Level advisors benefit from an intensive learning and networking experience designed to help them hone their expertise, share best practices, and provide ever-higher levels of service, education, and leadership to their clients.

Actively involved in industry groups to promote continuing education and high standards and ethics, Richard is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Institute of Certified Financial Planners®. He enjoys giving back to the community and has taught adult education classes for more than 10 years in the New York and New Jersey region.
